About Marci S. Guthrie, DDS

Dr. Marci Guthrie is a general dentist dedicated to making each patient experience positive and pleasant while providing high-quality, personalized dental care.

Dr. Guthrie began her dental career as a dental assistant in 1998. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry and completed her Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at VCU in 2004. After working as an associate general dentist for four years, she purchased her own practice in 2008.

To provide advanced treatment and current technology, Dr. Guthrie has completed continuing education at The Dawson Academy and Spears Institute and participates in local monthly study clubs. She is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry.

Dr. Guthrie contributes regularly to CBS Channel 6’s Virginia This Morning, sharing information about dental technology, health, and treatment. She is committed to community service through Give Kids a Smile, Mission of Mercy projects, and dental mission trips to Jamaica and Belize.

At James River Family Dentistry, Dr. Guthrie provides comprehensive family, general, cosmetic, and emergency dental care. Outside the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, traveling, fishing, photography, and helping others locally and around the world.
